During talks with AKU President Dr. Sulaiman Shahabuddin and other university leaders, he spoke about Switzerland’s strong bilateral relations with Pakistan.Health professionals from six countries are studying at the Aga Khan University (AKU) in Karachi.
“I am pleased to learn that Aga Khan University’s programs and facilities are accredited by prestigious international bodies such as Advance HE, Joint Commission International and the College of American Pathologists,” said Ambassador Cerjat.
He showed great interest in AKU’s Medical Education Innovation Center, a state-of-the-art facility for simulation-based learning for healthcare professionals.
The AKU president said the varsity educates students for local and global leadership from university campuses and hospitals in six countries, including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Kingdom.
AKU’s zakat and patient welfare programs spent Rs 3.6 billion on one million poor patients last year.
Ambassador Cerjat was accompanied by Muhammad Arif Tahir, Country President of Novartis Pharma (Pakistan) Limited, and Farhan Bhatti, Chief Financial Officer and Board Member of Roche Pakistan.
